1. Kobe Bryant - Los Angeles

2008 Statistics: 28.3 Pts - 6.3 Reb - 5.4 Ast

2009 Projection: 28.5 Pts - 6.2 Reb - 6.1 Ast

Kobe Bryant is the number one shooting guard, period. He should benefit from having Gasol for a whole season. His point total wont suffer because it stayed steady after the big trade went down. I do see an uptick in his APG from having a realiable post player and a developing one in Andrew Bynum.

2. Dwyane Wade - Miami

2008 Statistics: 24.6 Pts - 4.2 Reb - 6.9 Ast

2009 Projection: 25.1 Pts - 4.0 Reb - 7.5 Ast

With the season a couple months away, i figured it would be a good idea to get some fantasy basketball rankings going. Here are my Point Guard rankings.

1. Chris Paul- New Orleans

2008 Statistics: 21.1 Pts - 4.0 Reb - 11.6 Ast

2009 Projection: 20.4 Pts - 4.7 Reb - 12.8 Ast

Chris Paul had a monster year in every way possible and was the heart and soul of the Hornets. He very nearly won the MVP award and will definitely be the first PG scooped up in your Fantasy Basketball draft. He will help you in every category you would expect from a PG and his rebounds are reaching Eddy Curry territory. He lead the NBA in assists and steals and averaged over 20 points and 10 assists per game, he is the epitome of a true point guard. It is hard to find a knock on him, he doesnt have to carry the load for the team since they have David West and Peja Stojakovic to pick up slack. So, he will put up good shots and not force things ala Allen Iverson. He is a top 5 pick overall in any basketball draft.
