The team unfortunately lost last Tuesday's game 6-2 which is a minor concern to me since the Cubs always seem to have problems with really good left handed starters but i suppose Johan Santana has been on quite the streak and has just been unbeatable lately the one good thing that came out of that outing was Sean Marshall's solid performance which has earned him a spot on the postseason bullpen not bad for somebody who was on the trading block earlier this season , just imagine how much different the season had turned out if we had pulled the trigger on that Brian Roberts trade i mean really think about it if we had done that trade i believe it would have been Marshall and Ronny Cedeño going to Baltimore for Roberts imagine the impact of this move , not taking anything away from Roberts he has been an All-Star Second Baseman but if this had happened DeRo would not be having the year he has been having since it would mean he would be playing less and Ronny wouldn't be here to provide a solid backup in the infield and come up with some timely hits for the team , i also think Mike Fontenot would have been sent back to the minors since there would not be any room for him with 2 second basemen on the team but the biggest impact of not making this deal would have been the Rich Harden deal which has helped the team way more than that other trade would have , imagine if the Cubs had traded Marshall they would have been hard pressed to give up Sean Gallagher who was the one guy Oakland insisted on being part of the package so in retrospect the best move the Cubs made was not trading for Roberts . So with that said lets get to last night's game and boy this was just one more of those games that will wind up giving me a heart attack before im 40 lol boy this is what i love about this team that resilience and never give up attitude and somebody always coming thru in the clutch , two things do concern me one is Zambrano's performance after the no hitter have not been impressive and two is the injury to DeRo we cannot afford to lose this guy in the playoffs this guy is the heart of the team we need him it probably wont be serious so i would say just rest him until the end of the season . That's it for now till next time .

Either way i am glad we are playign this well down the stretch and carry this one to the first round of playoffs . Tonight will be a test since we are facing Johan Santana and he is incredibly tough but i read an artivle this morning sayign that Reed Johnson has dominated him in his career so he will probably give some tips to the other guys . This is my first blog here with this site and i am just excited to share my experience with you guys . Till next time seeee yaaaaaaaa
